OIO | SOUND

In the beginning that never began, there was the Word — and the Word was sound upon silence. That arrangement, that first pattern, is music itself. Sound is resonance — the force that holds matter in place, that decides its orbit. It is frequency and vibration, the thread the entire universe is woven from. Cymatics shows us what's usually hidden: the sacred geometries that frequency carves into matter, the same patterns echoed in the Fibonacci sequence, in shells, in galaxies. Sound isn't a metaphor for how things are structured. It's the structure.

OIO | SOUND grew out of a lifelong immersion in music — deep house, 90s hip-hop and rap, kwaito, South African house, and Pink Floyd, a constant in the house growing up, courtesy of my father. Somewhere along the way, it became clear that music — lyrically, spiritually — has lost some of its depth and authenticity. But at its root, music is one of the oldest technologies humans have for telling the truth and reaching each other across distance, language, and time.

Every ancient culture knew this. Chants, hymns, mantras — shamans have always turned to sound as medicine, as passage, as prayer. Sound therapy isn't new; it's a return to something we've always known and periodically forget. That's the intention behind this project: to bring healing resonance, spiritual awakening, and honest storytelling back into music, in a medium that too often trades truth for noise.

OIO — and the symbols carried alongside it — are sigils. Worn, they hold resonance for the one who wears them. The merch, in that sense, isn't merchandise at all. It's a living expression of the sound, given physical form.
